Want an easy hike with astonishing views?

If you’re visiting the Annecy area, don’t miss out on this short, rewarding walk. The Taillefer mountain is situated just on the edge of Lake Annecy and provides a great handful of viewpoints of the surrounding mountains.

The hike starts from the town of Duingt, where parking is readily available. The first ten minutes of the hike follow a tarmac path that leads to a viewpoint at Grotte De Notre Dame. Here you’ll find a small cave with religious significance and stunning views of the lake. Continuing upward, the hike follows a proper trail (no more pavement) and slowly becomes steeper, with a few small sections of scrambling. Eventually the trail evens out and offers up some fabulous views every few minutes before eventually turnning around and heading back downhill, through a small village, and back into Duingt.
