Exploring Naxos
Naxos is the largest of Greece’s Cyclade islands.
A visit to Naxos is very worthwhile. Being the largest island in the Cyclades means it’s also easy to get to, either by plane or via ferry. We highly recommend the ferry if you have time, since it’s very affordable and offers great views along the way.
Naxos is also the most fertile island of the region, so there is a great selection of fresh local produce, as well as green landscapes to admire. We explored ancient ruins like the Temple of Apollo, wandered the ancient streets of the old city, and even hiked to the highest point in the Cyclades - Mount Zas (the home of Zues).
